 Job description.

  • Inventory Management:
  • Managing receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Accurate receiving of goods, including checking for quantity, quality, and damage, is the first step.
  • Monitoring and controlling inventory levels.
  • Monitoring the movement and location of inventory within the warehouse
  • Ensuring accurate stock records and efficient storage.
  • Maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking and avoiding stockouts
  • Optimizing warehouse space utilization.
  • Efficiently picking, packing, and shipping customer orders.
  • Ensuring that orders are filled completely, accurately, and on time, minimizing errors and returns.
  • Analysing warehouse performance data, generating reports, and communicating findings Managing Director.
  • Staff Management:
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating warehouse personnel, fostering teamwork, and managing staff schedules.
  • Supervising and training warehouse staff.
  • Scheduling shifts and managing personnel effectively.
  • Motivating and guiding staff to meet performance targets.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Enforcing health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Implementing and improving warehouse processes and procedures.
  • Analysing operational data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Managing warehouse expenses, monitoring budgets, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to new business initiatives and projects.
  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience in change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or related field.
