Job description.

  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and analysing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Cost Accounting: Tracking and analysing costs associated with various aspects of the distribution process, such as transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and monitoring budgets for different departments and projects within the company and forecasting future financial performance.
  • Inventory Management: Ensuring accurate accounting for inventory levels, costs, and movements, including tracking inventory obsolescence and spoilage.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Managing the payment of invoices and the collection of payments from customers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Payroll Management: Calculating and processing employee wages and salaries, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that all financial activities comply with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
  • Auditing: Conducting internal audits to identify and correct errors or discrepancies in financial records.
  • Tax Preparation and Planning: Preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and providing tax planning advice.
  • Financial Analysis: Analysing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the distribution process.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Credit Control and handling Petty Cash
  • Strong understanding of Finance and Accounting principles
  • Effective Communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial
  • OND in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Bachelor’s degree/HND or equivalent will be an added advantage.
